Benefits Signposting (General Overview) (BS) - Level 1
This course is designed to equip advisers with the knowledge to identify potential entitlement to benefits and tax credits and to make appropriate referrals.
This course covers:
- The structure of the present British benefits and tax credits system
- The use of the A B C Guide to Benefits, Tax Credits and Advice as a tool for identifying entitlement to benefits and tax credits
- The basic qualifying conditions of individual benefits
- The effect of disability-related benefits on income-related benefits and tax credits
- The principles of means-testing
