Retirement Pension
This is an income replacement benefit (see Introduction) for people of pensionable age. This is age 65 for men. For women, pensionable age is increasing from 60 to 65 between 2010 and 2018. There are different types of Retirement Pension.
The client can get a forecast of the amount of pension by contacting the Pension Service. Benefit can be increased by putting off claiming after pensionable age. A client should get advice about this first.
Retirement Pension cannot be paid at the same time and to the same person as any other income replacement benefit.
